Despite its name though, the Ultra Unlimited Wireless Broadband plans are not exactly “unlimited” as per what you may have expected. The unlimited portion of these plans only applies to selected apps depending on the specific plan that you choose. However, all of them do come with unlimited data quota for Zoom and Google Meet which are being used extensively for online learning by teachers and schools throughout the country. For starters, there is the WB48 Study Plan that provides a general data pool of 20GB for RM 48 per month. Next in the line is the WB68 Work Plan which brings a 30GB general data quota and unlimited data for Microsoft 365 productivity apps such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint and others with a price tag of RM 68 per month.
Customers can also choose the WB88 Work & Play plan that costs RM 88 per month which is inclusive of a 50GB general data quota alongside unlimited data usage for Shopee, Lazada, Mobile Legend: Bang Bang, Free Fire, and CoD Mobile. The WB128 Max Plan bring the offering to the highest level with a larger general data pool of 150GB for RM 128 per month. Meanwhile, do note that these Ultra Unlimited Wireless Broadband plans come with a speed limit depending on which plan that you choose. For W48 subscribers, they will be maxed out at 10Mbps as compared to the WB68 and WB88 subscribers which can go up to 20Mbps, while the upper limit for W128 customers is 30Mbps. As part of the launch, U Mobile is now offering 50% off the monthly fee of all Ultra Unlimited Wireless Broadband plans for 24 months. To be eligible for this offer though, one must either sign-up or already have an existing subscription for the telco’s GX68, P79, P99, or P139 postpaid plans.
Aside from having no contractual obligations, these data-only plans do not require customers to purchase any device from U Mobile as they can just slot in the SIM card into their own tablet, mobile Wi-Fi, laptop, and other devices by themselves. That being said, the telco is currently offering a Huawei E5577-321 MiFi for RM 299 for those who are looking to obtain a mobile Wi-Fi device of their own. As always, we do recommend you to read through and fully understand all of the terms and conditions that U Mobile has for its new Ultra Unlimited Wireless Broadband plans before making your move.
