It’s called the Warp Charge 30 Wireless and it is the company’s first self-branded wireless charging dock. On paper, OnePlus says that the dock has a peak output of up to 30W and promises to charge its OnePlus from 1% to 50% in just 30 minutes. Unlike a conventional Qi wireless charging platform, the Warp Charge 30 Wireless utilises OnePlus’ Warp Charging technology that was first introduced with the OnePlus 7 series. Having said that, the brand says that its Warp charging technology will also be compatible with all Qi wireless chargers, albeit at just 5W. In other words, it’s more or less a confirmation that its OnePlus 8 devices will support Qi wireless charging.
Per its official forum post, the Warp Charge 30 Wireless also features a combination of an isolated charge pump and its Warp charging architecture. Technically, the charge pump on the dock will ensure a charge efficiency of 97% while minimizing the amount of energy normally converted into heat. Moreover, the charging pump deactivates itself whenever it detects an abnormal current or voltage from the source. There’s no additional information about the Warp Charge 30 Wireless beyond the post, unfortunately, and OnePlus’ Global Product Team simply stated that all will be revealed during the official OnePlus 8 series launch on April 15 next week.
