The RTX 2050 test results were posted online via the China-based social media platform, Zhihu, along with the MX550. In case you’re wondering why there are no results for the MX570, it’s because NVIDIA says that the RTX 2050 and MX570 are similar in performance, the main distinction between the two is that the latter is based on the Ampere GA107, while the former uses the last-generation Turing architecture. Getting back to the RTX 2050, the laptop GPU’s 3DMark Time Spy scores were 3369 for graphics, while the CPU score was 7779. Of course, that’s not a very impressive score, given that NVIDIA’s more current entry-level laptop GPU, the RTX 3050, is capable of achieving a score of 4800 points for the graphics portion of the same test. Having said that, it is likely that NVIDIA’s decision to release these lower-tier GPUs could be due to its intention of wanting to offer a modicum of graphical prowess, even to the more affordable laptop options that are bound for launch next year.
