The first pair of Leica-MYKITA sunglasses (pictured above) features this material as a top bar above its bridge and lens frames. Meanwhile, the pure stainless steel model draws inspiration from the Leica’s camera design, along with the brand’s signature red colour lacquered on the sides of the lenses. Fans of the camera brand will notice the geometric shape of the lenses on both models which are reminiscent of the Leica’s lens hood design. The lenses themselves are individually ground and polished, and features the brand’s AquaDura Vision Pro coating which are commonly used on its camera lenses and binoculars. The lenses also offer protection against reflections, water, dirt, and fogging. Furthermore, they provide 100 percent UV protection, with polarised lens options that help filter out glare, surface reflections and so on.
Each Leica-MYKITA eyewear comes with a certificate of authenticity, and a unique serial number that ensures their manufacturing standards. The eyewear collection will be available in June 2020, but retail prices have not been revealed at this time. (Source: MYKITA via PetaPixel)
