Update 8.10 of Fortnite now automatically allows cross-play between the two popular consoles. It’s also the only way to play the Battle Royale mode – the mode that skyrocketed the game to instant fame. Opt out of cross-play, and you’ll only have access to Creative Mode and Playgrounds.

Players on the Nintendo Switch, on the other hand, will be grouped with the mobile pool of players. This means that those playing on the Switch won’t be facing those on the PS4 or Xbox One, though you’d think they belong in the same group considering they all have physical controls. TechSpot reports that Epic is still figuring out a way to make console players who use keyboards and mice to get pooled with PC players instead. But it looks like the company has yet to figure out a way to make it work just yet. (Source: Epic Games via TechSpot)
