Aside from his role at Primeworks Studios, he was also previously responsible for many of Media Prima’s projects including 8TV and tonton. Among music lovers, Ahmad Izham was mainly known as the person behind the legendary local music label, Positive Tone music back in the mid-90s to early-2000s as well as an award-winning music producer and songwriter.
As for Disney+, Ahmad Izham is now its Executive Director of Content & Creative and will be based in Singapore. According to the report by Variety, he will be looking after the development and production of original contents for the service as well as content acquisition. Productions of surround content for sports and general entertainment programs will also be under his wing as well. Does this mean Malaysia is going to become the next Disney+ market in Southeast Asia after Indonesia? Well, not really. However, there is now a Malaysian among the top management of Disney+ SEA, we believe that could at least increase the possibility of seeing Malaysian contents on Disney+.
