And with that, let’s compare the Galaxy A51 with two other phones that were also launched late last year. They are the HONOR 9X and the realme 5 Pro. To be fair, these phone were also competing with the predecessor to the Galaxy A51, the A50, released in September of 2019. Nevertheless, they have similar enough specs and price that make them viable options to one another.
Again, the Samsung Galaxy A51 is the newest of the three. Once again, it is also the lightest of the three devices, as well as also being the thinnest. Being new also means it’s the only one with Android 10 out of the box, with One UI 2.
A few other things are also a little more clear cut than the last time. For one, the Samsung Galaxy A51 has the better camera setup, for both the front and back. The HONOR 9X takes the lead in terms of RAM and storage, but falls behind when it comes to processors. Things are flipped around where price is concerned, as the Samsung Galaxy A51 is priced higher than the other two. The leaked price we referenced before pegged it to come with a price of RM1299. The HONOR 9X entered the market with a RM999 price tag, while the realme 5 Pro launched with a price of RM1099.
This time, it would seem that things are slightly in favour of the Samsung Galaxy A51 being the better pick. But since it’s not actually out yet, the other phones are still good alternatives that are already available.
