The alleged renders was uploaded by industry leakster OnLeaks on his Twitter account, as well as Indian tech website 91Mobiles. As usual of the leaker’s initial renders of a particular phone, the supposed Huawei P40 model is presented in a silhouette-like style which does not give out too much detail upon observation. From the looks of it, the phone features a curved display which is expected to be around 6.1 or 6.2-inches. Due to the phone’s vague presentation in the render, it’s not known if it will sport a notch or punch-hole housing for its selfie camera. If these renders are to be believed, it also appears that the supposed Huawei P40’s curved screen takes lesser space on its left and right edges compared to the company’s current flagship, the Mate 30.
On its back, the supposed Huawei P40 appears to have a rectangular camera island but we can’t say for sure how many cameras are expected to be on it. Besides that, the volume rocker and lock button is located on its right side, while a speaker grille, USB-C port, and SIM tray can be seen on the phone’s bottom. As usual, no 3.5mm headphone jack is present. Other than that, OnLeaks and 91Mobiles suggests that the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro might feature the Kirin 990 SoC, a 5500mAh battery, and Sony’s IMX686 64MP primary sensor. But as always, do take these leaks and rumours with a grain of salt until an official confirmation from Huawei.
As previously reported, Huawei Consumer Group CEO Richard Yu confirmed that the company’s upcoming flagship will not feature Google Mobile Services, but will still run on the Android 10 operating system. The Huawei P40 series is expected to be fully unveiled at a special event in Paris sometime in March 2020. (Source: OnLeaks.)
