Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer of HMD Global, tweeted as much, with what looks like a rollout schedule. Honor marketing manager Kailiang Shen stated in Weibo that the brand will choose cameras with large pixel capabilities rather than high resolution. He adds that the company that 1μm pixels can ensure flagship-tier image quality, opposed to the 0.8μm pixel size found in high resolution sensors. Larger pixels tend to have better light sensitivity, thus producing images with better detail with less noise. Two newly registered trademarks were filed by the smartphone manufacturer at the China National Intellectual Property Administration office earlier this month, the publication reports. Specifically, these potential products bear the names “Honor Magic Fold” and “Honor Magic Flip”, which sounds awfully similar to Samsung’s naming convention for their foldable devices. Regardless, the takeaway from this similarity is figuring out which form factor the new Honor products could be featuring. In that regard, Honor Magic Fold will likely be a foldable phone that falls in line with the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Fold or the Huawei Mate X....

According to a report by Engadget, the Chinese technology company disclosed to the news site that it was willing to supply its 5G Balong 5000 chipsets. If only to help Apple to ship out a 5G-capable iPhone within the next couple of years. As these things usually go, there is a catch; Huawei says that it will only supply its modems to Apple, and no one else. Instagram will be doing it first for a select group of users, followed by Facebook in the coming weeks. That being said, both platforms have experimented with such a feature since 2019. The latest test follows mixed user responses to the like-hiding experiments, Instagram said. “Some people found this beneficial but some still wanted to see like counts so they could track what’s popular,” said a company spokesperson. People included in the Instagram test – a small slice of its global users – will still be able to privately view their own ‘like’ count....

Should a similar mishap occur, Instagram will push out a notification in the user’s Activity Feed to inform them of the issue. This is intended to not leave its users in the dark whenever a specific problem arises (ie: a technical issue with Story uploads), or something more widespread such as the aforementioned outage.
